ELECTRONIC COPYRIGHT: UPDATE ON LEGISLATION
17 March 2003 (half day - morning), at the London International Book Fair, Olympia
This half- day workshop is intended to update participants' knowledge of current copyright issues by focusing on the problems caused by new technology, and investigating the impact of the implementation of the EU Copyright Directive.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
By the end of the workshop delegates will have a good understanding of the problems caused by new technology. They will also have a clearer understanding of how far new legislation addresses these problems. The new legislation will be discussed in some depth, and there will be an opportunity for delegates to discuss any areas that particularly concern them, and to try to find practical solutions to any implementation problems.
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING?
Anyone who is affected by copyright issues. The workshop is aimed at those who already have a good basic understanding of current copyright law.
WORKSHOP LEADER: Judy Watkins
Judy is the British Library Copyright Office Manager and has considerable experience in giving advice to the British Library, other institutions and members of the public.
