The Reading Agency has been doing some work on this - I have given some
input and put them in touch with others. Hopefully this links up ....
There is a session at Umbrella I think. I would be interested to know if
health librarians feel that more work is needed on this issue in our sector
as I believe the Reading Agency work focus is initially on public library
work. The Improving Patient Experience workstream may encompass some of
this.
Much of the early work on bibliotherapy was written up I believe in Health
Libraries Review. Calderdale, and Scotland have some experience and
interest too.

Dear Liz
Have I mentioned to you before that Cath McCafferty
who works in our patients library services in Mersey
Care has actually undertaken some pilot bibliotherapy
work with service users and we are currently planning
to extend this with other groups through our
psychological services. She has done extensive
searching and reading around this area and has visited
other initiatives and generally done a lot of digging!
I'm sure Cath won't mind me blowing her trumpet! I've
copied her into the message so you can see her e-mail
address. hope that helps.
