Guardian today has this story about peer review:
"... a report out this month from a well-respected international
collaboration of scientists will reveal that this time-honoured
system of peer review, which has existed in some form for at least
200 years, is possibly bunk. "

It seems to be the work of Tom Jefferson and the Cochrane lot but I
can only see a JAMA paper from June 2002 (JAMA. 2002 Jun
5;287(21):2784-6). Did the Guardian get the date wrong or is there a
new study?
