Dear All
Apologies for cross posting
As some of you may be aware the old LA and IIS Codes of Ethics and
Professional Conduct are no longer in force.
CILIP is now undertaking a consultation exercise on a draft "Code of
Professional Ethics" that has been drawn up. This was announced in April in
"Update" but I have not seen anything about this important issue on any of
these discussion lists. This is a four month consultation period until the
end of July.
The draft code, background information and a feedback form are available at
http://www.cilip.org.uk/about/code.html
I don't know if grouping of librarians eg. CHILL, WDC, university or
whatever would like to make collective responses or if people are happy to
make individual responses. Is HLG doing anything about this?
