An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide information services to support the work of the National Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Supportive Care (NCC NSC) who are developing clinical guidelines for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).

The NCC NSC is based at the Royal College of Nursing within the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford and involves the following partners: 
Royal College of Nursing Institute 
College of Health 
UK Cochrane Centre 
Centre for Statistics in Medicine, Institute of Health Sciences, Oxford 
Clinical Effectiveness Forum for Allied Health Professionals 
Centre for Evidence Based Nursing, University of York 
Health Economics Research Centre, University of Oxford 

The Information Specialist will be employed by Oxford University Library Services, Health Care Libraries, and will work on a day to day basis with the NCC NSC Director, the Senior Research and Development Fellow, and other members of the Guidelines Development Team. 

With a first degree or a postgraduate qualification in library or information science, the postholder will work closely with the NCC NSC's Guidelines Development Team in providing a range of information services. These will include: developing database search strategies for guideline areas determined, carrying out database searches, and assisting in the appraisals of the quality of the literature collected.

The postholder will also develop general current awareness services to support the work of the NCC NSC's Guidelines Development Team and also contribute to other related activities 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have experience in database searching, preferably in a health related discipline.
