Judge: Web Sites For Health - Guidelines
http://www.judgehealth.org.uk
How can the health consumer be empowered to judge the quality of the
information they find on the Internet? Support group Web sites are important
sources of health information. It is vital that these sites are well
designed and contain good quality information.
The Judge Project, a partnership between Contact a Family and the
Information Management Research Institute, School of Informatics,
Northumbria University, has developed guidelines to help people with these
two issues.
The guidelines are freely available on the Web at:
http://www.judgehealth.org.uk
There are two sets of guidelines:
- one to help health consumers make informed choices about Web sites
- - - Judge: Web Sites for Health. Consumer Guidelines
- one to assist support groups to produce good quality Web sites
- - - Judge: Web Sites for Health. Support Group Guidelines
The Web site was developed in partnership with the Centre for Health
Information Quality.
Please feel free to pass this information on to other people who might be
interested. We would also be pleased if you could add a link to the "Judge:
Web sites for health" site in your consumer health resources.
With many thanks.
