**Research support in the online environment: a biosciences perspective**

Innovative technologies and resource initiatives are revolutionizing
international research activity in the biosciences, none more so than the UK
Research councils e-Science programme. This one day conference will
address some of the issues affecting the e-scientist and will include papers
on: grid technologies and distributed computing, intellectual property,
demystifying genomic resources on the Internet and making sense of
research outputs data.
There will be a varied programme with something to interest all information
professionals with an active role in research support in biomedical and life
sciences. The first paper will commence at 10.00am and a brief Aslib
Biosciences Group AGM will be held at the end of the morning session.
