Thanks to the 20-odd people who have written to me off-list saying rude
things about Hays DX and describing the various places Richard Bbennell,
sales and commercial director, can file his supplementary charge invoice.
Not too much of the stereotypical llibrarin's passivity on show here.
For information - I've written to Hays returning their invoice and asking
what their contractual basis is for levying the charge, why they have given
no notice and asking whether they are intending to pass on to us the
productivity gains their operation will achieve from the reduced congestion
in the central area. (My next-door neighbour drives a delivery van in
central London, and all last week he was finished and home by 3pm instead
of the usual 5.30.)
I don't expect an answer but we are moving our ILL traffic to the reliable
delivery service we already use for postal book loans.

I've ceased using them - it costs more in lost books and time

Subject: Cheeky Hays bills
I've just had one of these cheeky Supplementary Charge bills from Hays.
(Trying to get all of us in the Congestion Charge ring to stump up
another
35 quid for their rotten service to cover congestion charging. Why
don't
we all refuse to pay and see what they do?
