Library Assistant
£13,276 - £16,106 pa pro rata

This post offers an opportunity to work in a first-class Health Library
Service (Level One Accreditation since 1995), as part of a team of
enthusiastic and motivated information professionals. The post is half-time
(18.5 hours per week); the hours will be worked in conjunction with another
part-time assistant, to suit both post holders.
The main elements of the post are responsibility for book and journals
acquisitions, contributing to the training programe for library users and
encouraging and promoting the use of library resources. You will be
expected to develop your search and information retrieval skills, to support
evidence-based clinical practice and to participate fully in the development
of the library service.
Within 18 months the library will be moving into the new Knowledge Spa being
built on the Royal Cornwall Hospital site in Truro and extending its
services to medical students as part of the Peninsula Medical School, and to
nursing students from the University of Plymouth Institute of Health
Studies.
