We are introducing a scheme whereby non-members can be issued with a membership card, in return for a nominal payment to cover costs. This will allow them access during all our opening hours (acess for non-members is currently restricted to a limiited number of our hours), but not borrowing privileges. We already issue a Visitors Pass to everyone who signs in for a single visit but are stumped as to an appropriate snappy term to describe the new category of membership, which would be printed on a barcoded card for them to use.
No prize for the best suggestion, but I'd be interested to hear how other libraries describe such users.
