Hello all
You may remember, if you were there! that we had a discussion at the EIUG
conference AGM about what 'Enhancements' we should be submitting
(European relevant/other) and how we should be doing it.
Following that, Michael Emly had a meeting with Aaron and since then
the EIUG committee have met and discussed this as an agenda item.
A full enhancement cycle for IUG will take place before our next Annual
conference in September so we suggest the following guidelines for
submitting through the next cycle.
1. You check the results of the 2002 cycle and if your suggestion
(to IUG or EIUG) hasn't been selected and you still think that it is
relevant submit it again to IUG.
2. Also submit any new enhancement requests to the IUG site
(the deadline is March 1st 2003)
3. The 2002-2003 Enhancement Schedule (see IUG site) then continues thus:
April 15, 2003: Functional experts will select the top 15 requests
in each category for the IUG membership ballot.
April 26-28, 2003: Discussions of some enhancement ballots at IUG San Jose, CA.
May 1-25, 2003: Voting for 2003 enhancement requests.
June 20, 2003: Final results will be posted online at this site,
and a copy handed over to Innovative Interfaces.
4. As you can see a full cycle will have taken place. At this point
we suggest that you check whether your suggestion has made it! if not
and you still think it relevant, send it to the EIUG. Also send any new
requests, especially if they have European relevance. We will pass our
requests to iii at our conference.
Submit via: http://www.leeds.ac.uk/library/ephemera/enhance.htm
For those of you unfamiliar with the IUG site go to:
http://www.innopacusers.org/enhancements/
From this page you can see the results of the voting for 2002, view submitted enhancement
requests for 2003 and submit your own.
Any queries please get back to me & I'll attempt to answer them!
