I also have no idea with the "romantic love complex" is, but I'm in
agreement with Douglas' recommendation of "Intimacy", though I see that it
as a beautiful, troubling, sentimental, but unsentimalised (perhaps
a-romantic -- if there is such a word) notion of a love affair. Also, of
Catherine Breillat's "Romance" (1999) and also Claire Denis' "Vendredi
Soir" (2002) -- the latter film contains some of the most imtimate and
non-voyeuristic love scenes I've ever seen (reminisicent of Wong Kar-wai's
opening love scene between Tony and Leslie in "Happy Together") her use of
the close-up and her editing is masterly.
hope these are helpful.
