JOURNEYS ACROSS MEDIA - POSTGRADUATE CONFERENCE IN FILM, THEATRE AND
TELEVISION
21st March 2003 UNIVERSITY OF READING
This event is an opportunity for postgraduate students to come together and
share their cutting edge research on a national or even international level
and to practice the art of presenting a conference paper.
The 'Journeys Across Media' (JAM) forum is organised by the Department of
Theatre, Film & Television at the University of Reading. It is a welcoming
and innovative one-day event for graduate students in Film, Theatre, and
Television Studies to present and discuss their current research. The day
will also provide opportunities for students to share their own experiences
of the thesis-writing process with each other.
The meeting will take place at the University of Reading on Friday, 21st
March 2003, and the organisers would like to invite proposals for papers
from graduate students working in Film, Theatre or Television Studies. The
organisers welcome papers which contribute to research on:
1) Medium Specificity in Film, Theatre and Television
2) Cross-Media Relationships in relation to one or more of the following:
Text, Narrative, Genre
Audience, Reception, Consumption
Body, Self, Other
Papers should be 20 minutes long, and there will be time for discussion
after each paper. Please send proposals of 250-300 words plus a short
