How about the spate of popular Technicolour Biblical films in the late
50s/early 60s (Ben-Hur, The Greatest Story Ever Told, The Robe, Quo
Vadis?, A Story of Esther, etc.)? They represented a very clear
Christian or Judeo-Christian ideology, with Rome as always the sumptuous
but evil empire. One could even look at a few films, A Story of Esther
in particular, as having a second, more subtle anti-Holocaust message
(though that isn't exactly an example of an ideology).
