Truth exists--indeed, but as a social construction. I do not postulate a
'relative truth', but rather a series of judgements or conceptions that
reflect ethical positions, e.g., hundreds of thousands of people have died
in Iraq during the last ten years--a data which is used as much against
Saddam Hussein's regime as against the US & UK governments.
It was Nietzsche who wrote that 'there are no facts, only interpretations.'
A discussion on ethics is--I believe, far more important than a discussion
on 'objective' facts. Without this frame of mind cunning politicians would
be able to persuade us of the just cause of any invasion.
