You can try Ann Hui's "Boat People" which focuses on the experience of the
boat people from China who are not officially part of mainland Hong Kong.
There is also another movie she made in 1997 or after, but I misplaced my
reference, which had a strong reference to boat people and their diasporic
experiences, a problem which is metaphorically mirrored in a Hong Kong
village girl's amnesia--a metaphor of cultural amnesia.
I will inform you again when I do find that other reference.
