The problem with this is a paradox. The original form is a perfectly
intelligible `fine resort', but _resort_ as applied to places (as opposed to
the opportunity to assemble or a general going-somewhere) is not found till
the mid-C18. The verb _resorter_ `to frequent a place' is found in the law
French of England, but its equivalent in English in various applications only
from the C15.
