CEN Workshop on Knowledge Management (22/09/2003)
This workshop, which runs from September 2002-September 2003 has brought
together more than
200 organisations within and outside Europe to contribute to developing a
"European Guide to Good
Practice in Knowledge Management".The workshop has built upon examples of
good practice already available, notably in Europe lead by the British
Standards Institution (BSI) in the UK, to develop guidelines which cover all
facets of the
challenge of managing organisational knowledge - and not just technology
issues.
The resulting European Guide to Good Practice in Knowledge Management will
comprise chapters
on Knowledge Management Frameworks, Organisational Culture, Implementation,
Measurement and Terminology.

Digital broadcasting and switchover (22/09/2003)
The European Commission has adopted, at the initiative of Commissioner Erkki
Liikanen, responsible for Enterprise and the Information Society, a
Communication on the transition to digital broadcasting. This Communication
addresses a key issue for Member States in their move towards the
Information Society: which approach to take for the migration to digital
broadcasting. The Communication also raises a strategic issue for the EU,
concerning the future reuse of valuable radio spectrum currently used for
analogue television.
