Create a discussion explaining how you want students to book times by
replying to the timed threads to the message. Then for each time slot post
a reply to the original message with the time as the title (ie 10.00,
10.15, 10.30), leaving the text blank. Students should be instructed just
to post a reply (with their name as title and no text) to the time they
want.
Advantages? - From the first page of the discussion board you'll be able to
print out a list with each student that's replied and the time they've
chosen. You can also clearly see when you can go for a coffee! It'll be
familiar and simple for students to use.
Disadvantages? - OK, so for 100 students entering all those time slots
would be a bit of a pain. As far as I'm aware, there's no way of copying
the discussion so it can be reused.
