The Somerset Archive and Record Service provides an innovative archive
advice service to North Somerset Unitary Authority.
We are looking for a qualified archivist to take a leading role in
developing the North Somerset Service, with responsibility for providing the
public with an archive advice and consultation service in North Somerset
libraries on up to 3 days per month. The person appointed will be part of a
team of archivists based at the Somerset Record Office in Taunton. There
will be opportunity to take a full part in the work of this busy office,
including assisting with the public service and in outreach work. The
postholder will also be able to participate in aspects of our HLF-funded
cataloguing project, Access to Somerset Archives.
A current driving licence is essential.
The post will be graded on Somerset Scale 12 (£16,371-£18,537) but market
factor increments to £19,776 will also be available on appointment for a
suitable candidate.
