TEMPORARY ASSISTANT CONSERVATOR, WOODWARD ARCHIVE PROJECT
Fixed term contract for six months
Salary: £13,581-£16,515 pro rata
The George M Woodward archive is an outstanding collection of late 18th and
early 19th century social, theatrical and political caricatures by this
nationally-known artist. We are looking for an assistant conservator to
undertake preventative and remedial conservation tasks on both prints and
drawings
and to help prepare an exhibition of selected items. This project is funded
by the Heritage Lottery Fund and you will work as part of a small team
including a project assistant and a conservation assistant. You should have
an archive conservation degree or 2 years' experience as a paper conservator
in a recognised institution. ICT skills and a knowledge of historical works
of art on paper would be an advantage. Experience of archive project work is
desirable. This post provides opportunities to develop specialist skills in
a rich and varied archival resource and to participate in an exciting and
innovative project to improve access.
