This would be great, and I'm sure we all agree about the major time commitment necessary for constant training, especially with the important emphasis on the whole process from sampling to analysis.
I suspect that using a video would still have to be backed with some interpersonal contact, though, because there really isn't a good substitute for face to face dialogue, plus a run-through of as much of the practical process as possible under supervision.
Have you thought of using Key Trainers - nurses, preferably - trained & accredited by your department, with annual checks of competence and records kept of who they have trained? We have this system for blood gas analysers in some areas with high staff numbers and high turnover, eg theatres, and it seems to work well. It certainly takes some of the burden off us.

Dear all,
Is anyone aware of a video (VHS format) produced (either privately or
commercially) to cover blood gas sampling, pre-analytical factors and
analysis?
Colleagues here at Royal Brompton are seriously considering this as an
option to assist in the never-ending cycle of staff training / education
(particularly junior medical staff).
It would be of interest (and perhaps save a lot of work) if such exists
already.
Best wishes,
Chris
