I have a request for information please. We have converted to Roche
Advantage meters and have hopefully made everyone throughoput the Trust
aware of the icodextrin problem but we are also checking the meters the
patients on extraneal CAPD are using. The ward have given me a list of
meters but it's not proving easy to confirm which ones are affected. Can
any one using this list help? The meters are
Hypoguard supreme petite, Glucotrend 2 , one-touch ultra by johnson and
johnson, Bayer compact 4, and a talking version for our blind patient called
a gluki-plus marketed by vis-ability which is apparently based on a
glucotrend 4.
We are encouraging all the patients to switch to Medisense but the
gluki-plus cost the ward £430 so it would seem a shame to have to bin it!
Thanks,
Dr Fiona Ivison
