A 72 year woman with type 2 diabetes and on treatment for bladder cancer
was screened to start on a statin. The CK was found to be 255 u/L Ref
range 40-200. On repeat after stopping gardening and normal thyroid
function tests, the CK was 431 u/L.
Tietz guide to tests states that bladder cancer is a cause of raised
CK.
A search of the last 6 years of medline has no association between
bladder cancer and raised CK.
I wondered if anyone has experience of this.
