I would be interested in your choice of analyser in this setting.

Subject: Re: POCT in casualty departments
We run a FBC analyser alongside the blood gases etc here at Lewisham.
This has been in place for 2 years or so and is busy. Audit trailing the
results in the absence of proper LIS connections is the only minor
problem and we are addressing this issue currently.

Blood Gases, including Co-Ox, glucose meters and pregnancy tests are
currently available to our Casualty department as POCT.
I would be interested to hear from those who have successfully
introduced
other POCT analyses, quantitative or qualitative, into casualty
departments.
Also those who have tried other tests and failed for whatever reason.
