We have done some work on this at Morriston but we do not have a method that
we would use on patients yet as there is no external QC available in Europe.
My own view is that this assay may well come in eventually but new assays
are always slow to replace old favorites.
The assay is quite difficult to do but if it proves to be as definitive as
the reports in the American literature suggest, it may well be worth the
effort. Some recent reports, however have questioned the highly impressive
data of Eisenhofer et al.
