Does anyone on the list know of any 'gold' standard recommendations for adequate intervals of patient fasting for blood glucose and/or lipids ?
A local GP is getting conflicting advice from the 2 local hospital laboratories he uses, and to confuse matters further has also had a request from a Private Insurance Company for a fasting blood glucose on a patient of his, telling him that the patient is required to fast for only 6 hours.
Can anyone help ?
Thanks
