Order of draw in Leeds was decided by a group representing all
departments using blood tubes. The biochemistry concern over
contamination of serum gel tubes by citrate (possibly affecting the
lanthanides used by the AutoDelfia) was greater then the
haematology concern about contamination of clotting tubes by the
silica clot activator.
We decided on the order:
Blood culture
Serum gel
Coagulation
at the top of the table.
