A specially trained female sniffer dog can be tried!
Russia invents robot dog
Russia claims to have invented a robot sniffer dog
that can detect drugs in a truck full of garlic or
onions. The robot dog has been developed by
scientists in Siberia and is programmed to detect
drugs including cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Pravda
reports that its main benefit is the ability to sniff
out drugs under extreme conditions, including cars and
trucks packed with strong-smelling foods. Border
guards between Russia and Kazakhstan have reportedly
already shown interest in using the robot dog. Pravda
reported: "The invention will help border guards to
search for drugs in cars and trucks filled with
onions, garlic, dill and other spices and kitchen
herbs." It says hundreds of kilograms of drugs are
transported across the Russia-Kazakh border in such
trucks. Scientists programmed the robot with an
extensive database that contains information about
basic kinds of drugs, such as cocaine, marijuana,
heroin and opium, and their variants. The database
also contains a list of substances that are used to
mask the smell of drugs. If it encounters an unknown
drug, its database is automatically updated. Source:
