Does anyone have any suggestions to explain the following pattern of
results:
Three year old child, known hypothyroidism, on thyroxine and fairly well
controlled (TSH = 0.92 mU/L, fT4 = 20 pmol/L) has taken 7 x 350 mcg tablets
of thyroxine.
Later that day TSH = 31.4, fT4 = 36 (TSH confirmed neat and 1:5 and 1:10
dilutions)
Four days later TSH = 2.51, fT4 = 26 (results checked neat)
Can TSH fall to this degree over four days?
