Dear Colleagues
One of the aims of this years FOCUS meeting is to raise awareness of the role of Clinical Diagnostics. We feel that this is important at a time when NI contributions are set to rise and testing rates are likely to rise in response to NICE and NSF guidance.
We are attempting to garner the attention of the media at the meeting through the lunchtime debates and by advertising the meeting with the help of a PR company. However, we need YOUR help with stories of the benefits of clinical diagnostics. I have attached a poster to this mailing. Please pin it in front of your desk to remind you to tell us of your stories. You all have examples eg shortened bed stay in CCU with troponins, earlier cancer treatments initiated with information form tumour markers, improved care with NPT .... etc etc, don't be shy please send these stories to us.
Our aim is to develop a dossier of case stories to give to the press, to improve awareness in the general public of the work we do.
Many thanks in advance
Julian
