Excuse cross-postings, but I think that this conference will be of interest
to many radstats members. (The Cambridge Journal of Economics prides
itself on a heterodox and critical approach, in contrast to mainstream
economics journals).

Economics for the Future
What is the future of economics? This question is the theme for a major
international conference organised by the Cambridge Journal of Economics in
celebration of the centenary of the Cambridge Economics degree. The
conference will encourage open dialogue amongst all those concerned about
the future prospects for economics - including those from other disciplines
- and will feature a series of plenary debates between leading academics
and opinion formers.
Conference Themes
The Conference will address the major issues challenging economics,
including:
· Globalisation and international economic integration
· Underdevelopment and uneven development
· The role of institutions for economic progress
· The future of economic theory
· Unemployment and inflation
· Industrial organisation
· Corporate behaviour and the financial system
· Distribution and class conflict
Conference presentations will take two forms: plenary debates by
international scholars and presentations organised around the key themes.
