Talk: Embracing Failure
Time & date: 6.30 - 7.30pm followed by drinks reception
Wednesday 13th August
Venue: The Wellcome Building, 183 Euston Road
Embracing Failure
Is 'failure' a frustrating yet essential part of the creative process? The making of 'The Rosalind Project', which is currently exhibiting at the TwoTen Gallery at the Wellcome Trust as part of the 'Four Plus: Writing DNA' exhibition, took artist Richard Dedomenici to Chicago in an attempt to turn a chunk of British coal into diamond.
Curious? This unconventional presentation will review recent exploits of the artist and question our understanding of failure. Come prepared for an entertaining yet highly individual presentation from an artist recently described in a 'Blueprint' review as 'hovering on that fine line between originality and sheer lunacy'.
This event is free but spaces are limited. To book please call Verena Collins-Magee on 020 7611 8229 or email [log in to unmask] by Monday 11th August.
This talk is part of a series presented by the Wellcome Trust where artists involved in 'Four Plus: writing DNA' will offer a unique perspective on their work in the world of the scientist.
