don't think ubiquity alone validates design. A unique
design, for example, one that enabled an invalid to
work effectively or that brings personal delight to
someone are valid too. (That is why I stressed the
role of individual evaluation in my last post.)
Now that I think about it you are right, and a form of medical design is an excellent example. I just saw Lady McCartney on Larry King. She's designed an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable artificial limb that funcions for people with an amputation much better - nothing in this design functions to sell something else.
