In my view these questions do not address the cause of what happened.
They shift a social to a factual issue. Even complete agreement on
these questions will not prevent further incidents of that kind.
The whole thing is hard to grasp, and even more for those, who have
not been personally involved. Matt tried to formulate it somehow...
In our case (and in my perception) it was a precarious mix of
personal and public issues in our conversation that caused my
outburst.
What should we do? No explicit changes of rules on the list!
But be more careful with the necessary distinction + coherence of
private and public communication, maybe. It's highly explosive. And
we should not be too fast with explanations of what happened, as you
seem to do in putting your questions above.
