I very much liked your phrase “fuzzy front end”. We tend to be much
more conservative and call it 'scoping', but I think we are talking
about much the same thing. I also very much liked Rob's list of
questions, also probing this “fuzzy front end”, and I think both Rob
and you are correct when you say that this type of questioning is
something that is part of what designers do particularly well.
