I am beginning to investigate options for providing a public access version
of our museum's database catalogue with a stand alone unit in our
galleries. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has recently
provided such access in their galleries, and in particular, what
technologies they have used - eg touch screens, track balls, regular mouse,
or a combination of methods. How robust have they been, and how easy to
people find it is to use them? Where have people bought their hardware
from, and did they produce a brief detailing their hardware requirements?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
