Hello Folks,
I have been using FSL 3.1 on Solaris 9 for a couple of months. I compiled the tools using gcc 2.95.3 and have been happy for while using some of the simpler tools such as BET. I'm now in the process of converting some scripts to make better use of FSL. I'm interested in seeing if Sun's compilers can produce faster code than GCC. A first attempt at recompiling FAST (currently something I would like to run faster) resulted in a number of errors. Before I get too far with this has anyone on the list previously attempted to use the Sun CC compiler? I have both the 6.2 "Forte" and 8 "Sun ONE" compilers.
I am mostly interested in this because previous experience indicates that GCC didn't produce the fastest code on SPARC.
Thanks for the advice,
-jed
