With apologies for cross-posting...
The on-line browsable versions of NMR thesauri from the English Heritage
Data Standards Unit have been refreshed today to include two additional
resources:-
1) The Historic Aircraft thesaurus developed by the NMR.
2) The Thesaurus of Resource Description (ThReD) developed by the National
Trust and NMR with funding from the Sharing Museums Skills Millennium Award
scheme.
The thesaurus pages, which now include links to eleven separate thesauri,
can be accessed from the English Heritage web site at
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/thesaurus/thes_splash.htm
Note that links to the English Heritage thesaurus pages from the FISH
INSCRIPTION web pages are currently not working - they still point to the
old RCHME site which has been discontinued. Also there seems to be a problem
currently with the url cited in some documents
www.english-heritage.org.uk/thesaurus . Our apologies for these problems
which are being addressed.
Suggested additional terms for all the NMR thesauri are welcome. They can be
submitted online via
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/thesaurus/comments.htm
or emailed direct to my colleague Kieran Byrne on

To help us to process candidate terms please remember to cite authorities or
sources for terms, and suggest scope notes.
Finally, digital copies of the thesauri can be provided under license as
MS-Access databases. These are suitable for building into project databases
or research tools. Contact me, [log in to unmask] for
further information.
