I would agree with Nick, my interpretation of this paragraph is that it is
talking about recording of landscapes in addition to the detailed recording
of sites, so these are not seen in isolation but in a wider context.

in response to this, I think this may be a misreading of the intention of
the document. As I read it I understood this to mean that landscape
perspectives would be recorded in some way in addition to the features
within the landscape, as perhaps an interpretetive layer. With regard to
HBSMR users, the parallel would be the ability to map HLC data within the
software as well as the underlying data which was used to generate this.
that's my reading, but it probably wouldn't hurt to underline that if that
is the intention, it could be perhaps more explicit.
