My reasoning is as follows. A large element of subjectivity in selection
has been removed by including all the place-names recorded in this atlas.
It seems to me that it would be useful to have a copy of the atlas in order
to see what names are included for any particular area. (If necessary,
comparisons could be made with other mapping.) As grid numbers are
included, it would need to be an atlas that used these.
I am also unhappy about the 1974 boundaries, but if you could see the places
on a map you could find the right county!
