Ultimately, I'm hoping it will be for a couple of clients I have in mind but I need to test out the accessibility software first to make sure that it will be appropriate in each case. SuSe, Mandrake and Redhat appeared to be the best when I was started looking into this. All are pretty similiar in terms of user friendliness but each comes bundled with slightly different packages. So it depends on what applications you have in mind. Redhat seems to be quite popular for networking and other office type stuff. I went for Suse because it came bundled with loads of good software packages for everyday office and home type use. The only problem is that SuSe (pro) comes on seven CDs (thanks to all the great packages)! Obviously, one doesn't need to install everything but the fact that it comes on CDs rules out some of the older PCs I had in mind. I will (when I have the time) look into downloading the bare minimum onto a bunch of floppies and see if I can get those working with Linux as well, but it certainly doesn't look like it'll be a very user-friendly task!
Cheers, Aejaz

Thinking about Redhat
(http://www.redhat.com/download/howto_download.html ) since my contacts
tell me this is one of the best. SuSe sounds like it is also one of the
best.
Is the laptop for a client?
Cheers!
