we used a switched joypad to add to our smart wheelchair tools and a proportional one for a clients wheelchair when we needed a very low profile joystick to swing over his voca.

Hmmm, are you using these as PC games joysticks (i.e into the games port
of the computer) or as switched joystick or as a custom app?
I agree the PS2 joysticks are incredibly good!
