We have a lab meeting every week in each of the sections where the latest
EQA returns are presented, discussed and appropriate action, if needed, put
in place.
Each endocrine report on arrival, for instance is examined by myself or
Sophie Barnes, a summary sheet attached with action and outcome sections on
it, and presented to the lab staff.
Those forms requiring action are held in a pending folding until action
complete and form is filled in. It is then files in a master file. The
summary sheets are all signed off by myself or Sophie. We have a QA officer
who examines all the other returns and presents them to the section leader.
This person also received the endocrine summary sheets so that an overall QA
summary can be prepared and presented to the Section leaders meeting each
month.
