Hello,
Following up on my previous posting on xanthochromia, is Kernicterus of
concern in adults , specifically in an adult with low serum protein
(albumin 18 g/L) and a serum bilirubin of 280 µmol/L , with 212 µmol/L of
it being conjugated ? Our ICU physicians are trying to explain the mental
deterioration of a patient whose bilirubin has risen over the last few
weeks, and wonder if they should consider phototherapy.
