Dear membership,
I have been trying unsuccessfully to get through Dr. Duley's purine lab at
Guy's hospital in London, the past week. I am a microbiologist at the
Jewish General Hospital (a McGill affliated hosptial) in Montreal, Canada
with an interest in the clinical and diagnositic aspects of tuberculosis.
The biochemist at our hospital approached me a few months ago about starting
Adenosine Deaminase testing on pleural and other liquids as a diagnostic
method for tuberculosis. He has developed an assay and we are about ready
to start testing specimens. I read with interest the email that Dr. Duley
was sent out on the clinical chemistry list in November 2002where he
mentioned that he filtered the pleural fluids with a 0.2 um
filter, to make them sterile prior to analysing them for ADA. If anyone has
the SOPS of this procedure and the filter type that he is using I would
appreciate it.
Thanks very much
Chris Greenaway
