Hi,
Regarding the video. I am in the process of creating one myself. I have
been involved in producing some videos of lectures etc and creating CDs out
of them. The whole process mirrors the very successful Australian
Association NITTY series http://www.aacb.asn.au/educ/nitty/index.htm
whereby a power point presentation and video can be joined together and
published as an interactive web page which can then be streamed on demand
over the hospital intranet or can be distributed by CDROM.
The potential for other projects e.g. glucose meters etc is great I think.
You could have an online library of your training procedures to help in the
training of new staff. Perhaps it could be linked to the training database
(or Doug's Hirst's intranet training) so that management of say yearly
validation of training could largely be done by the users themselves.
These are just some ideas to bounce around! I am currently in the process
of creating a "script" for the blood gas training video.
Of course if anyone wants any details on what equipment they need to
produce their own video/PowerPoint presentations I would be more than happy
to disseminate this.
Finally I hope all of you are aware of the POCT meeting that is taking
place at Tooley Street in December. Although I haven't officially asked the
speakers yet I am planning to create a video CD of this event so that
people unable to attend will be able to attend virtually.
