We tried Trop T for six weeks. Their budget went
through the roof when the world turned up to use it,
usually on the grounds that the patient had a pain
somewhere between the ankles and the jaw so it COULD
be an MI. Protocols were ignored and the nurses almost
went on strike as it was severley disrupting nursing
practice. We took it back into the lab.
We do urinalysis with Multistix 8SG and the Clinitek
50 analyser from Bayer. Nursing staff like it. I am
about to do an audit as we have introduced an new UTI
protocol. Will post it when complete.
