Dear Colleagues,
Dr Mike Charles (archaeobotanist at Sheffield University) and I are currently
trying to pull together a database of zooarch and archaeobotanical work
undertaken in Iraq.
This is part of a pilot study, funded by the British School of Archaeology in
Iraq, to create an on-line resource which can be simply searched for basic
details such as assemblage size, no's id fragments, species identified and
perhaps later some other more detailed information. This will then be linked to
maps showing topography, vegetation zones, rainfall etc.
I have a number of the more obvious references already, but would like to ensure
as full a coverage as possible of published and "semi-published" material at
this stage.
Could anyone who has worked (or been involved with post-ex analysis of material)
in Iraq send me any zooarch references (or reprints if you have them) of their
own work (or others) they think might be relevant. Full acknowledgements in the
final Internet Arch J. Publication + ADS database will obviously be given to all
those who provided info.
Thanks in advance,
Keith Dobney
