I agree with your statement:

And that leads me to the question, do you (or anyone) have examples (articles,
studies, etc.) that discuss or study the principles and/or skills that one
would use to appropriately abstract and accurately present? Thanks for the
reference to "Design Methods". I look forward reading the discussion of
application. Do you know if it addresses the question I just raised?
